Feature spotlight: Colleague alerts

Welcome to our new Feature spotlight ! This is a feature-focused highlight where we take a closer look at features we’ve been developing and refining over time. Each feature we spotlight has grown through iterative development and they’ve quietly grown into powerhouses.

Of course, we’re not stopping here. We will continue to enhance and expand these features based on your feedback.

Read on for more details on our spotlight feature.  If you would like to gain a deeper understanding of these updates, join us at one of our upcoming live training sessions (sign up here), or email us at info@solomonic.co.uk.

Colleague alerts

April 2025

Subscribe your colleagues to alerts

When setting up a new alert, you will always be given the option to sign up colleagues to the alert. To do so, search for their name in the search bar and select them from the dropdown. Please note that your colleague must have a Solomonic account in order to be added to an alert.

If you’d like to add your colleague to an existing alert, head to your ‘My alertspage. Find the relevant alert, click ‘More’ and ‘Subscribe your colleague’. Simply search their name and select them from the dropdown.

If you see an error message while adding someone, it typically means they’ve already subscribed to the alert - the system prevents duplicate subscriptions.

Managing colleague alerts

To manage the alerts you’ve created for your colleagues, access your ‘My colleague alerts’ page by clicking on the title dropdown and selecting ‘My colleague alerts’. This will show you a list of alerts you’ve created for your colleagues.

For each alert, you will see who the recipient is. If you make any changes to alerts on this page, these changes will also be reflected for the respective recipient. If you make changes on your version of the alert from your ‘My alerts’ page, this does not change your colleague’s alerts.

However, if you’ve created an alert for your colleague and they have subsequently edited it from their own account, you will no longer see this alert listed in your ‘My colleague alerts’ page. This is because the ownership of the alert has now been transferred to them, and you will no longer be able to view their alert or make any changes.
