Improved baseline metrics

January 2025

Assess an entity’s performance against overall averages across all entities and sector-specific data

Over the past few months, we’ve introduced baseline averages for our primary entity types. Now, we’re excited to announce an enhanced version designed for even easier interpretation. This updated benchmark indicator provides invaluable context - enabling you to assess performance against both the overall average across all entities and sector-specific data for parties.

The average can be identified on the side from which the dotted line originates.

For example, in the image above, News Group Newspaper Ltd (NGN) have appeared as defendants 99.6% of the time. When compared to other parties in the technology, media and telecoms sector, the average for being a defendant is significantly lower, at 56.2%. We also see that NGN have settled 98.1% of their cases, while the sector average for settlement is slightly lower, at 86.8%.
