Solomonic alerts

One of our most powerful and popular features are our alerts. Track your market and spot new opportunities by tailoring your daily and weekly featured alerts or by creating your own customised alerts. On this page, you will find more information on:

Featured alerts

Solomonic offers a range of featured alerts that you can choose to tailor to your liking. You will, by default, receive daily email alerts of newly issued claims, and weekly summaries of claim forms and High Court hearings.

To view a list of all featured alerts options, access your ‘My featured alerts’ page by clicking on your profile dropdown.

To edit the contents of each alert, click ‘Edit’. You can choose to be alerted to specific courts, or to specific applications for insolvency actions. To completely unsubscribe from an alert, click on ‘More’ and select ‘Unsubscribe’ from the dropdown’.

You will receive your daily alerts at the end of the day. This email will summarise all the relevant activity that happened on that day.

You will receive your weekly alerts every Monday morning. This will contain all the relevant activity from the previous week, with the exception of our Hearings alert. The hearing alert is Solomonic’s only forward looking alert - you will be notified of all the upcoming hearings for that coming week.

Alert Builder

Our alert builder functionality is the easiest way to create highly sophisticated bespoke alerts. Click on your ‘My alerts’ page from your profile dropdown to access this functionality.

Click on ‘Alert builder’ on the top right-hand corner and choose what you’d like to track from the menu. Regardless of what you choose to track, you will be always asked if you’d like to add additional data filters to further narrow your alerts, what your preferred frequency is for your alerts (daily or weekly), if you’d like to subscribe your colleague to alerts and if you’d like to rename your alerts. Follow the steps and click confirm once you’re happy with your selection.

Free text alerts for parties and law firms

Set up daily or weekly alerts for any text, name or phrase (for parties and law firms).

This allows you to proactively and preemptively create alerts for parties or law firms that have not yet had any activity in the English High Court since 2014 and, therefore, are not listed within the platform. You can also save time by creating alerts for certain phrases, words or umbrella terms that may encompass multiple entities within a single alert instead of manually creating alerts for each individual entity itself.

To access this, navigate to Alert Builder from your ‘My alerts’ page and choose to track either ‘Parties’ or ‘Law firms’ from the menu. Click on ‘Search term’ and ‘Enter a term’ to simply type in your name/phrase in the entry field.  For example, if you were to type “Easy”, you will be alerted for any party activity with the word “Easy” in their name.

Important terminology

  • Data filters

To view all the data filters we have and how we define each of them, click here.

  • Alert Frequency

If you select daily updates for custom alerts, you will be notified at the end of the day of any activity. If there is no activity, you will not receive an email. All your custom alerts will be summarised in one email titled your ‘Your daily activity alert’. At the bottom of each individual activity update, you will be told which of your custom alerts triggered the notification.

If you select weekly updates for custom alerts, you will receive a summary email at the end of the week. Similarly, if there is no activity, you will not receive an email.

  • When would you like to be alerted?

This is essentially what you would like to trigger your alert. You will be given two options, ‘When there is activity on an ongoing claim or ‘When added to a claim’. If you choose the ‘When there is activity on an ongoing claim’, you will be alerted to any activity on both newly issued claims and updates on existing claims. If you choose the latter, you will only be alerted to newly issued claims.

Editing and managing your alerts

To view and manage your own custom alerts, click on your ‘My alerts’ page. You will see a list of all your alerts, its contents and who it was created by.

To edit the contents of each alert, click Edit. To add your colleagues to an existing alert, click on Moreand select ‘Subscribe your colleagues’. Type in your colleague’s name and select them from the dropdown to add them to the alert. If your colleague does not appear in the dropdown, it is because they do not have a Solomonic account - please note that only Solomonic users can be added to alerts.

To completely unsubscribe from an alert, click on More and select Delete from the dropdown.

Colleague Alerts

To manage the alerts that you’ve created for your colleagues, access your ‘My colleague alerts’ page by clicking on the title dropdown and selecting ‘My colleague alerts’. This will show you a list of alerts you’ve created for your colleagues.

For each alert, you will see who the recipient is. If you make any changes to alerts on this page, these changes will also be reflected for the respective recipient.

However, if you’ve created an alert for your colleague and they have subsequently edited it from their own account, you will no longer see this alert listed in your ‘My colleague alerts’ page. This is because the ownership of the alert has now been transferred to them, and you will no longer be able to view their alert or make any changes.
